Usually, extractions would also include follicles from the head. These would be integrated with the donor supply of body hair. During the insertion phase, the head hair would help create a more even looking texture across the head. This would prevent the formation of two distinct looking regions comprised of head hair versus body hair.
Different Body Hair Textures
Again, if body donor sources that match the color of the patient’s head are not available, then hair of a different color can still be used. Patients would need to color their hair to create a uniform matching shade.
The main benefit of body hair is the ability to expand the number of donor grafts available. This would enable patients to achieve greater density and coverage than they would otherwise be able to achieve compared to head donor sources alone.
