Advantages of FUE
Anyone familiar with the traditional “strip harvesting” method of hair restoration knows how devastating a strip scar can be.
- A strip scar may cause humiliation, which affects your confidence and diminishes happiness.
- Perhaps worst of all, strip scars can warp and stretch over the years.
- Strip surgery permanently distorts the direction your hair grows alongside the strip scar itself.
FUE hair transplantation provides various advantages over strip procedures. It does not leave a strip scar, does not distort the direction of hair growth, and FUE can even repair an existing strip scar. It is a minimally invasive hair transplant procedure, which requires less healing and recovery time post-surgery. In Advanced for of FUE Hair transplantation called the UGraft, hair can be reliably taken from the nape of the neck, body, beard as well as afro-textured tightly curled hairs.
How Does FUE Work?
In UGraft Advanced FUE hair transplant, a patients’ donor hair pool is maximized due to the ability of Dr U to take hair from anywhere on the body, with the use of body hair transplantation. Next, the doctor will select grafts in follicular units, or natural hair groupings (1-4 hairs). The right FUE doctor can select the best follicular units to offer the most hairs per graft, and create the most optimal yield. As opposed to leaving the delicate work of separating out the follicular units from a strip graft, your FUE surgeon will initially remove follicular units themselves. Finally, these follicular units will be transplanted into the recipient area. Results vary, but transplanted hair growth will generally continue to improve with time post-surgery.
