A. Dermhair Clinic does not use automation but rather the use of hand held motorized UGraft system which is motorized
This video shows how the UGraft works:
which includes our proprietary patented uGraft instruments. This enables each procedure to be performed with greater care and aligned with the overarching vision for the final aesthetic results which depend exceedingly on the surgeons’ skills rather than technical sophistication.
Why Dermhair Clinic Does Not Use automated or robotic FUE Extraction machines
Automated and Robotic FUE procedures is the corporate world’s attempt to brute force and hasten the process. Clinics and doctors that have no FUE skills who are not interested in investing the time and effort to master the process would find robotic methods appealing. It is however not in the interest of the patients. The nuanced processes that go into making a patient’s outcome stellar are not possible with automated and robotic hair transplant methods.
It is important to keep in mind that extractions only comprise one part of the surgery. How the follicles are stored and inserted are additional phases that also contribute significantly to the overall results. Lack of proper handling prior to the insertions can be detrimental to the survival of the follicles. And how the recipient slits are prepared will affect the look of the final results.
Prospective hair transplant patients need to focus on viewing images of a doctor’s past work to assess their ability to consistently deliver quality results
Dr U has given his opinion about automated FUE tools that use vacuum to suck out grafts and the inherent hair follicular damage that they cause. Vacuum incorporated follicular unit extraction tools would result in poorer grafts yield especially when trying to extract delicate hair grafts. Robotic FUE has to cut corners to remove the need for human oversight. One major drawback is the need to use larger punches in order to reduce the transections that are likely to increase without human touch in navigating the hair course underneath the skin. Larger punches means more donor scarring and faser donor supply depletion
