Body Hair Transplant Using Only Body Hair: In this case presentation, Dr U performs the restoration by Body Hair Transplant Using Only Body Hair using the UGraft FUE method

Hair Loss Level:

A 61 year old who would be NW 6 but with a history of transplants that were done in 1987 and 1989, requested a body hair transplant. His previous hair restoration surgeries consisted of several mini grafts and plugs that covered his frontal and mid scalp. His crown was empty except for a few isolated plugs.

Body Hair Transplant Using Only Body Hair:

Using the Ugraft FUE method he developed, Dr U transplanted 3,000 gray and dark body hair and observed darkening of the transplanted area at 7 months. Next Dr. Umar selected all gray hair from a defined area of the chest and transplanted 1354 of these to the bald crown. At 20 months we observed predominantly dark hair growth in transplanted area of the crown.

He did not want any head or beard hair used.

The patient had 6000 more body hair transplanted from the thighs, chest, abdomen to his hairline, and the remaining NW 6 area. The result of his BHT is shown at over 1 year after his last surgery. He is happy with his result and for requesting a procedure of body hair transplant using only body hair and with Dr U for performing it. He is especially pleased by his observation that his grey body hair converted to dark hair upon trans location to the head. He recounts his surprise and excitement at this new phenomenon, never before reported in the hair transplant literature.
