Body hair transplant repair of shock loss: This patient flew in from Miami to Los Angeles to see Dr. Umar. He had previously undergone several strip surgeries. Because he is a “diffuse thinner,” the shock from these procedures caused trauma to the hair follicles on the sides of his head. And to his dismay, this led to the further loss of hair.
There were two main objectives for the treatment featured in this video:
1) Cover up the strip scars
2) Replenish hair in the thinning regions on the sides of the patient’s head.
To expand the donor supply, Dr. Umar used his uGraft Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) technique to harvest follicles from both the head and the beard region for a total of 600 grafts.
The results of integrating the beard hair with head hair in the body hair transplant were quite inconspicuous. The beard hair blended in quite well with its surroundings on the sides of the head.
Furthermore the donor regions healed, leaving no traces of scarring. The patient was very pleased with the quality of results he received as well as the improvement in his confidence level.
